Beachwood BBQ: Long Beach – Ode to Lambic

Sunday, May 6, 2012 – 4pm to 11:30pm

Lambic is one of the most sublime and complex beer styles one can try.For those of you who love Lambic like we do, you know that a love for Lambic is a love for challenging the limits of beer flavor. It’s an appreciation of technique coupled with a little bit of luck, patience and a devotion to tradition.

Lambic brewing traditions, preserved since the Middle Ages are subject to the forces of nature–spontaneous fermentation, exposure to the wild yeasts and bacteria that represent a particular geographicalthumbprint, and influence by the local microbial micro flora. Lambic is a unique representation of a brewery’s environment. It is an intricate expression of the brewers’ craft, and still to this day, one of the most mesmerizing categories of beer being produced—perhaps the best example of terroir that the beer world has to offer.

Come join us for a celebration of these legendary wild ales and the amazing beers that they have continued to inspire. Gain some insight into the world of Lambic through guest speakers from The Bruery, Artisanal Imports and more… True to Beachwood style, we’ll have some unique food pairings available as well.

For those of you that have been squirreling away your favorite Lambic beers in hopes of sharing them with like minds, this could be your perfect opportunity. We’d like to extend the celebration with a bottle share of your favorites.
